Super Green Smoothie Juice!

Happy Wednesday everyone!

For those of you doing a Whole30 along with me, did you know days 10 and 11 (today/tomorrow) are the most likely days that you will quit!? Most likely it’s because the novelty of the program has worn off, but you aren’t seeing the magical results yet. DON’T QUIT! The magic is coming.

Smoothies/juices are a gray area when it comes to Whole30. The program really wants you to focus on eating real, actual food. You shouldn’t be relying on drinks to get you everything you need. That being said, smoothies are a rarity for me and I don’t feel my body craves them or uses them for comfort in any way. Since I’ve had a nasty cold lately, I wanted to make something that had lots of healing goodness in it to help me kick the last of this sickness. I’m calling it a “smoothie juice” because while it is a little frozen, it really feels more juice like to me. You could add some almond butter and/or more almond milk to make it creamier and more smoothie like. I hope you like it!

Ingredients
1/2 frozen banana (not pictured)
1/4 an apple roughly chopped – I used honeycrisp, but any apple should work
juice from 1/4-1/2 a lemon
1 inch knob of ginger peeled and roughly chopped
1 (or 2) very large handful of spinach
1-2 Tbsp fresh parsley (or other green herb of choice)
Dash of turmeric (not pictured)
1 cup Coconut water
1/2 Almond milk (I used Nutpods – new obsession)
A couple of ice cubes

Directions
Dump everything into a blender and blend until smooth – drink up!

PS I use a Ninja and it works great for me.
